As you can see, my name is Shellie. People close to me call me Shell. Feel free to call me that as well. Just not Shelia (WTF?) or Michelle. Spelling my name Shelly or Shelley really peeves me too. I’m 23 years old. My birthday is the 15th of March, same day as Ides of March. I’m pretty short standing at 5’3” but sometimes I feel a lot shorter. I got a new haircut August 2009 in a very short stacked bob and it has been growing out since then. Ever since I hit puberty I have been slowly gaining weight. I found out October 2006 that I had a hormonal imbalance. I took Metformin for almost a year and lost around 20 pounds. I now have a whole new eating and exercise lifestyle and WILL CONTINUE the battle to keep and maintain this new weight. After I gave birth to our daughter I lost more so altogether since 2006 I’ve lost over 100 pounds! I’m a very relaxed, easy going, determined, stubborn, pensive person. I enjoy sitting outside and being surrounded by the beauty of nature.
All my life I grew up with a “Mom”, “way older Sister” and a “Nephew”. I also had another “older Sister” named Pam that I hadn’t seen since I was 5. Or so I thought. After I had turned 18 March of 2004, when June came around I was getting ready to move out to Nebraska with Brad and his family so Mom knew she had to tell me the truth since I needed my birth certificate.MOM: “What I am about to tell you may make you mad, It may make you sad or It may leave you the way you are.â€
(what she was about to say threw me into the most absolute shock I have ever been in)
MOM: (so she looks at me and says..) “you know I’m not your Mom, right?â€
(uhhhhhh come to think of it.. NO! )
ME: (unable to speak, really, i start to cry) “Wha.. wha..â€
(by this time we’re both crying)
ME: “So (my words are choked) who is my Mom?â€
MOM: “Pam isâ€
ME: “Pam?!?!?!â€
(hellllo my whole life she’s been my “sister†WTF?!!)
MOM: “Yes, Pam is your real mother, here’s the birth certificate with her name on itâ€
So “Mom” is my Grandma. “Older sister” is my Aunt. “Nephew” is my Aunt’s son, my cousin. And my “Sister” that I hadn’t seen since I was 5 - is my biological Mom. It’s quite a story and left me very confused for quite some time. I’m very very very thankful for my Grandparents who took me in when my alcoholic Mom couldn’t or wouldn’t take care of me and that’s the simple truth. And everyone knew I was better off with my Grandparents. My Grandpa died a few days before my 7th birthday and I never really knew him. I don’t really know my biological Mom that much. Same goes for my half brother and sister. I hope I get to see my biological Mom again at some point. And have no clue about any information on my biological Father.
All my life I have lived in the South. Was born in Louisiana, grew up in Georgia then moved to Mississippi for about 8 years but I did spend almost a year living in Nebraska where I found out that I officially never want to live up North where there’s lots of cold and snow. I hope we can move out of this small town in Alabama someday soon and go live in a bigger city. I grew up near Atlanta so I do love the big city. I enjoy the variety you get in a big city. In a small town you only have a few choices as far as food and shopping. I’m happy being a southern girl.
Music has always been a big part of my life and I really enjoy listening to music and singing along. I like a little of everything but I love Rock music. I grew up listening to Country music so I do enjoy 90’s Country and the occasional new Country song. As of now, my favorite band is INCUBUS. Here are other bands that I like and listen to pretty often:
my chemical romance, ANGELS & AIRWAVES, korn, fall out boy, green day, new found glory, story of the year, ALIEN ANT FARM, hoobastank, NINE INCH NAILS, fuel, the ataris, matchbox 20, ryan cabrera, john mayer, evanescence, theory of a deadman, ludacris, missy elliot, usher, limp bizkit, foo fighters, puddle of mudd, p.o.d, linkin park, chevelle, sum 41, lifehouse, trapt, staind, the killers, our lady peace, craig david, train, finch, yellowcard, avril lavigne, seether, blink 182, nickelback, THREE DAYS GRACE, 3 doors down, papa roach, nine days, 10 years, gorillaz, the all american rejects, black eyed peas, sugar ray, maroon 5, breaking benjamin, bryan adams, edwin mccain, kelly clarkson, cold, aerosmith, savage garden, sarah mclachlan, american hi fi, hinder
