Don’t cha hate it when you buy new items you haven’t tried before and their AWFUL?

~ I bought new heat spray for my hair last week since they didn’t have my spray. UGH. My hair is so PICKY so this new heat spray?… Yea, left my hair nice and dead dry. Luckily, they had my spray again this week.
~ Ran out of my light buttermilk ranch dressing and decided to try something new! I think It was blue cheese dressing? Can’t remember which one exactly. One word: EW! Brad said it tasted like nail polish! LOL. I hate throwing things away but neither one of us were going to eat it… ugh. I decided to buy light honey mustard. Delicious!!

Ah well, that comes with trying new things! I’m currently LOVING all things cinnamon! Also.. MANGOS! They are soooo soo good. Today was good! This morning I took Katie out walking in her stroller and the weather was beautiful. I think I randomly walked and ran for around 30 minutes then after Katie was put down for her nap I did my usual 30 minute resistance rope workout then 10 minutes on the exercise bike. I am pooped tonight! Just sat down a few minutes ago to type this but gotta get right back up to cook dinner. It feels WONDEROUS outside right now! Got the living room window open and loving it!

Feelin’ good!

I FEEL EXCELLENT. Today was sooo great! I gotta make this quick since I gotta start dinner plus chop up some fruits and veggies for the week. Bought some brussel sprouts and have those boiling right now for this week, yum!!!

I got up this morning and decided to start pushing my workout time later in the morning like I used to do so that when I’m done working out I can eat lunch right away instead of working out then waiting hours for lunch – which is no good for my body. I decided to go running outside since I wanted to stop by a ladys apartment since I visit her once a month with the church. It was beautiful outside and It was awesome to get to actually run OUTSIDE as compared to the treadmill! She wasn’t home so I left a note on her door then came back home. All in all I ran and walked a total of 2.7 miles! I also did a 20 minute workout on the Wii Active (More Workouts) and burned an additional 100 calories to that. This late afternoon we headed out to the store to buy groceries like we usually do on Tuesdays and this is what I ate right before we left!


~ cup of multigrain cheerios
~ cup of chocolate silk soy milk
~ sprinkle of mixed nuts, homemade granola, bran buds
~ half a PB&J Lara Bar

Got lots of goodies at the store and I bought a mini seedless watermelon that I’m getting ready to chop up and put in the fridge. I’m sooo happy I got to run outside today though! It’s gonna be even WARMER TOMORROW and even more so the next day. One word: STOKED!!!

All systems go

I have to say today started with an “eh” and has gotten better and better by the minute!!! I am FORCING myself to not do as much exercise this week and keeping a closer eye on what food I’m intaking. After Brad got up and showered this morning he headed out to go get the truck looked at so It would be in good shape for our UPCOMING TRIP TO GEORGIAAAAA! He was gone almost 5 hours! He also had to go by the church to get some work done there. I was happy when he came home!!! After Katie got up this evening we finalllllly went to our “FUTURE” home! I brought some cleaning supplies just incase I decided to… y’know go all cleaning crazy. On the way there I snacked on:

~ 0.5 cup multrigrain cheerios, homemade granola and few mixed nuts
~ half a banana bread Lara Bar
~ 4oz chocolate protein shake and a dab of light cool whip

We got to really check out the house inside and then ventured outside to look at all the pretty trees and bushes! The house needs a lot of lovin’ and TLC so there will be PLENTYYY of work to do but I look forward to giving the house some pampering. There was a very spaz-tastic dog that came up to us outside and wouldn’t go away! We eventually loaded up and decided to wander around Wal-Mart for a bit. Brad got deodarant and some grapefruit in a jar. Once home I fed Katie dinner then put her to bed. THEN THE SNACK PREP BEGAN! Brad made a “protein cake” in the microwave or should I say attempted to make, lol. It was alright. For a snack I made..

~ Omlet with bit o’
*mushroom onion, tomato, spices
*topped with a tiny light sour cream and salsa!

I cannot WAIT FOR DESSERT! I whipped together:
– 0.5 CHOCOLATE oikos yogurt
– few mixed nuts
– few multigrain cheerios
– few banana slices
– bite of peach
– sprinkle of homemade granola
– tablespoon of whipped peanut butter < ~ delish! Stirred this together and it is currently in my freezer waiting for me! I'm gonna put it on a cone with cool whip. Speaking of FOOD! I must get my beeehind in the kitchen and start getting our chicken ready for bakin. Brad is watching Ghost Adventures on our NETFLIX on our TV via our Wii! We got the Wii disk today, woot. I just want to again comment on how thankful, grateful and blessed I feel. I'm so grateful for God and The Gospel. How wonderful it is!

Oh, Sunday

When we left for church this morning, the sun was shining and It felt wonderful BUT by the time we left to come home It had become very overcast and quite CHILLY. I was hoping to go to the new house today to get started on some cleaning but someone decided they were too tired so I just called my Mom instead. Apparently they’ve got some storms rollin through at the moment so she had to get off the phone because It was starting there in Georgia.

I think tonight is going to be TWILIGHT/NEW MOON NIGHT! I still haven’t watched New Moon because I wanted to sit down and be able to watch BOTH and haven’t had that chance yet but yes, yes.. I do think tonight will be that night! Katie refused her dinner and even drink and SCREAMED HER HEAD OFF so I think her teeth are bothering her. Thank you Katie my dear for my nerves are just a little shot.

Yeah.. I’m sorry I don’t have much to blog about. I guess I’m out for now!

Zee weekend!

How is everyone’s weekend going so far??? It was in the 70’s and BEAUTIFUL but yup once again… tomorrow it’s supposed to STORM. This post is gonna be nothing but ramble since I don’t really have anything specific to talk about tonight, hah. I cleaned house and enjoyed the fresh air by opening the windows. That is always so nice and refreshing.

I’m working on a new layout!!! It’s already in progress! I’m taking this current structure that I’m using and revamping it into a spring layout so I should have that ready soon. I’m currently waiting on my love to get home from work! He also had to stop and get some gas for the truck but he should be home very shortly and then starts our WEEKEND since he’s gonna be off until Wednesday like usual.

Yup… gonna hang out, fix dinner and enjoy! Hope you enjoy your evening tooooo!

Upcoming

3 reasons why I am stoked on this Friday!…

1) WE ARE GOING TO SEE MY MOM! That’s right! We will be leaving Easter Sunday to finally go visit my Mom! Last time I saw her was when I had my gallbladder surgery back in November so I super ecstatic to go to Georgia and spend Sunday – Wednesday with her!
2) I GOT A DENTIST APPOINTMENT! No, I don’t really look forward to the pain of dental work but I look forward to getting my teeth taken care of. I am so ashamed to say I haven’t had dental care since High School. Yikes! I go in for my 1st appointment April 12th.
3) THE NEW HOUSE! Brad and I are overjoyed about soon moving to the new house we are going to rent! I have SO. MANY. IDEAS. All I’ve heard Brad talk about lately is how excited he is to start and work in a garden. Seriously, our dreams are slowly unfolding right before us!!!

Yesterday we had dreary, rain then sunshine and storms?! Today the sun is making another apperance and It’s feel okay outside but seriously I want warmer temps and for that wind to back off!!! I told Brad I am REALLY GOING TO LOVE SUMMER. Aaaaaaah. I did a 40 minute workout on the Wii Active (More Workouts) and got a pretty good sweat going and almost 200 calories! Still trying to whip myself into not overdoing the exercise since my body does not react well to me doing too much and I must listen to my body! I have done so well this week and look forward to my snacks today! Yes, how geeky am I. I’ve had fun trying out all the flavors of the Lara Bars I bought! So far the PB&J has been my favorite and today I’m going for the Apple Pie flavor. I read a lot of foodie blogs and might get in on it a bit?!!? I’m pretty boring with my usual foods so I’ll think about it, hah.

Record!!!

WOOOO
I set a new record today with my running!!! I did the best time for 1 mile that I’ve EVER done… 9:45!!! In total I did 3 miles in 31 minutes and I am feeling GOOD GOOD. My lungs started to hurt a bit when I was almost to a mile but I’ve taught myself to BREATHE certain ways to help me sustain and keep going!

I wanted to reflect on how the church has helped me open my eyes to my health that lead me to change my life in the way that I have.

The physical body is a gift from God. No mortal body is perfect; some persons are born with handicaps or serious disabilities. Nevertheless, in premortal life spirits looked forward with great anticipation to receiving a physical body. Latter-day Saints look upon the body as an essential component in the progress to become perfect, even as the Heavenly Father is perfect.

The health laws or commandments given in the scriptures are to teach mankind how to care for their bodies. Such laws have spiritual consequence. Obedience to health laws can enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Latter-day Saints are counseled not to take harmful and habit-forming things into their bodies. Tobacco, alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea, and drugs are to be avoided. Fruits, vegetables, herbs, grains, and fish are good for the body; meats, however, should be used sparingly.

I was taught about The Word of Wisdom and so began my new outlook on my BODY and HEALTH. Our bodies are such precious vessels and we need to take the best care of them and that is SOO important to me now.

I was reading an article today on healthy living and curbing hunger and wanted to share those things with you. If you find yourself often hungry and indulging too much in the foods that you shouldn’t then these tips would be GREAT for you! I know these tips have guided me.

~ Control Your Stress! Relax and breathe. A lot of times we find ourselves stressed and we look to food for that comfort. Many of the things we stress about we can’t change so why stress?
~ Drink Water! Make sure to keep your body hydrated throughout the day. I’ve found If I drink a bunch of water before I eat that helps or even to drink a lot of water WITH my meal.
~ Eat Often! Who would of thought! Yes, eat often. Small, healthy meals will help you kick those cravings and doing this will help lessen hunger pangs throughout your day.

I knew It was going to be in the 70’s today so after the usual morning routine of breakfast, exercise and taking care of Katie, her and I went to attempt a walk outside. We crossed sidewalks and Katie sat down. Got her back up and she tried to sit again so I carried her back to our backporch where we basked in the WARM, wonderful sun for about 40 minutes. Of COURSE coming inside resulted in a full-blown temper tantrum from a tired little girl. Oh how I did look forward to nap time! Today was beautiful and guess what is in store for tomorrow…? Drum roll please…… THUNDERSTORM. Ugh. We get 2 nice days and the rain has to come back. That’s the usual with “spring” weather so I’m ready for SUMMER.

This evening a lady from church came by to talk to me for a bit and It was so nice to have company and just talk for a bit!! She left just before 6pm and I’ve just been fixing snacks, hanging out with Katie and listening to music. She’s currently playing in the floor with her blocks babbling, heh. FORGOT to mention yesterday that I BOUGHT NEW MOOOOOOOON! I still haven’t seen it so I cannot wait to have the time to sit and watch it! I want to watch them both though.. both Twilight and New Moon so I’m not sure when I’ll have the time to do that but I’m excited haha. Then I’m gonna eventually buy the book as well.

I think I need to look into some smaller pants! I’ve been wearing a size 10 but all the pants I wear always wind up sliding down when I walk and yes, I could wear a belt but I don’t like them. I should of looked at the mall when we were there Monday but I didn’t think about it then. The lady that came over today and saw the pictures of me on our living room wall — pictures from around my highest weight and she said she couldn’t believe that was me! I know the feeling but I was that weight for a long time so to have this new lifestyle and new weight is like a WONDERFUL breathe of FRESH, FRESH air. I still have my struggles! In fact, last weekend I ate more than I should have but all healthy choices! Just a bit more. I’m trying to make myself eat snacks earlier in the afternoon rather than cramming them all before dinner. It’s a habit I’ve formed so like any habit, I have to work to break it and so far this week I’ve done that. I got back on the bike today for my workout! I didn’t do it last Wednesday since I was so intent on trying out the Wii Active More Workouts game. Bob Harper posted a challenge on his twitter today for 10 miles on a stationary bike so I wanted to mee that goal!!! I usually do around 6-10 miles and wound up with 10.2 miles in 17 minutes which is pretty good for me. I actually enjoy doing my exercise because used to I would dread it when It was time to workout but once I became accustomed to my workouts and routines I began to love it.

Oookie, I’m gonna call my Mommy and talk to her for a bit before I put Katie to bed! Have a lovely night!

Thank goodness today was a much better day! It was also VERY beautiful outside and when we left for groceries this afternoon the temperature outside was EXCELLENT. Before we left for groceries, I put together a snack! I’m going to start eating a snack after my shower since I know I’ve been spacing out my snacks too far apart resulting in being tired and of course hungry.

How willing are we to serve our Heavenly Father? We tend to push Him away and away from all the potential good things in life. We must be thy humble and He will bless us – I can testify to that. Eating and living healthy mean everything to me now. Speaking of! I’ve gotta get up and go chop up new fruits and veggies we bought this evening! I bought CANTELOPE!!

Not so much

Welllllllll. Today did not turn out so well! We wanted to go out this evening to finally “celebrate” our birthdays but wound up with a very tired, cranky, screaming baby so our trip had to be cut short and so now our evening does not have a good tone to it, meh. We did get to go to a Kroger and look around and WOW, I wish we had one close. I bought some protein bars including like 5 different Lara Bars in yummy flavors! Can’t wait to try them so I’m just excited because of that!

I did run 3 miles today on the treadmill so I’m stoked and I ran for 2 miles straight, YES!!! Also happy I got all of my online work done earlier today and I have a load of laundry going.

Good news is that our dental insurance is accepted by the dentist we want to go to so I can finally get started soon with getting my teeth taken care of!

Oookie, time to go start dinner and see what I can find to do!
