So, after contemplating recently and today – I’ve decided instead of striving for a 100% raw vegan, I’m going with a cooked vegan lifestyle. Living close to 100% raw vegan showed me exactly what I needed to know to move forward. In 2009, I became afraid of CARBS. Now, they are going to be part of my staple! Deffo not afraid of them now, but I’m going to stay gluten-free as I can and stay away from the grains that make me feel bad. LOTS of veggies, LOTS of greens, LOTS of water, plenty of good carbs/grains and fruits. Still staying away from fats (except the occasional healthy fats), and away from animal products of course. WE DON’T NEED ANIMAL PROTEIN TO THRIIIIIIVE. The little amount of protein we need can be achieved through eating plenty of fruits and veggies. I’m gonna eat those goodies until I’m satisfied!
ANDDDDD this way I can get Katie and Brad into it easier than all of us attempting 100% raw vegan, which Brad was not willing to do, BUT he is willing to do this!! YAAAAAAY. I wanted to do something together and so this works!!!!!!!! ;D =)
Another decent day! It was gloomy and WINDY all day. Nothing spectacular happened earlier today….. just usual college work and Katie playing and watching cartoons. She’s getting good at counting past 10 now, with the numbers and letters shows I’ve been letting her watch. After Brad came home, I told him about going cooked vegan as a family, and that I wanted HEALTHY PIZZA for dinner, so we headed out in the wind and cold to Whole Foods!!! We got a little gluten-free Udi’s pizza with moz, tomato, and basil! Bought additional fresh mushrooms, spinach, and a red pepper to add on top. We got home, fed Katie, and let the pizza cook for a few minutes while I got the rest of the items ready. I also put some additional organic marinera sauce on top. LOL, Katie loves The Land Before Time movies, and now she wants “tree stars” aka GREENS… which is EXCELLENT. Brad gave her some “tree stars” at Whole Foods and then I put some “tree stars” (aka spinach) on her plate and she loves it! This started a few weeks ago, so if she will pile in the greens….. AWESOME. 🙂 Also, got a Kombucha to drink on the way home and Brad got an Odawalla drink. The pizza was DELISH, a bit messy, but great! I have so many fun, creative ideas for us as a family! SQUEEEE. Actually feeling pretty good tonight.
Brad wants me to cut his hair, so I’m gonna do that, fiddle online for a bit then go to BED. Excited about going out tomorrow evening to buy yummy foods! Soooooooo very thankful, grateful, and blessed for everything Heavenly Father has given me.
