One goal for today: Finish online work and I just finished…. WOOHOO!
Since April my health has been on a rollercoaster! I wiped my body out with not enough fuel and a bit too much exercise and so down, down went my estrogen and progesterone. Enter in the birth control pills since my OB/Gyn recommended them to help raise the hormones. BAD IDEA. My Mom said that our family has a history of not being able to take the birth control but I figured by the advice of my Gyno I’d give it a go since I’d never been on them before and maybe this is just what I needed? WRONG. Started BC pills early July and I just got off them this last weekend and don’t plan on going on them EVER again. I do not like the idea of synthetic hormones in my system. How do I feel now? Well, a little better. I don’t feel angry or really down anymore. My eating had gotten out of control – It’s like I would manage my eating habits then BOOM, I go crazy. Since stopping the BC pills, my eating has been much better and I plan to keep it that way even If I have the urge to overeat because I KNOW I’m eating enough and I don’t want to gain more weight. I want my weight to be stable until I can get my energy and hormones back in line then work on losing to my ultimate goal in a HEALTHY WAY with all the GOOD STUFF as far as calories, carbs, fat and protein goes.
My health is SO IMPORTANT and I look back on my weight loss journey and how I did so well on the low-carb, low-fat, high protein diet while I was overweight but then I think of what I put my body through by staying on that eating reigment after the major fat was gone but I recognize what happened and now I KNOW that I will not eat or live that way. I remember while eating THAT STRICT I would look at protein bars and not buy them because there were “too many carbs” in them. Thinking about that makes me laugh now! Speaking of healthy eating… I really love CLIF bars! Those DO have a good chunk of carbs in them but bring it on!!! I took a short nap this afternoon and had the cruncy peanut butter CLIF bar after I woke up and It was delicious. I’m also stuck on Powerade now as well! I was having 8oz of light juice with my dinner but I switched to the 0 calorie Powerade and really enjoy it!
I want healthy things to go into my body but YES I will have treats and whatnot. In fact, I love to have dessert every night. Lately It’s been Edy’s Limited Edition…. PUMPKIN ice cream! Brad says it tastes like egg nog! I will take an ice cream cone EVERY NIGHT. I’d like to also have some dark chocolate or cookies!!! Another favorite HEALTHY dessert of mine is frozen Oikos chocolate greek yogurt (DROOOOOOL) mixed with protein powder and fruit and put on my ice cream cone. Too bad Wal-Mart hasn’t had the Oikos chocolate greek yogurt in a long while! Really wish we had a Whole Foods, EarthFare or even a KROGER in town but the closest Kroger is about an hour away… argh.
I could talk about healthy eatings all day long and I plan to live a healthy lifestyle the rest of my life because I KNOW It’s the best and right thing to do for my body! I hope to inspire others to recognize and be knowledgeable about the foods and beverages they put into their bodies. I follow quite a few “foodie” blogs online and am SUPER JEALOUS that most of these people have friends who are striving to live the same way and so they cook healthy meals together and try to find recipies and ways to make things as healthy as possible! Yes, again I say I am jealous!!!
I’m really interested to see how I’m gonna feel in about a month. COME ON ENERGY – come BACK TO ME! I’m currently taking daily a multi-vitamin, B12 vitamin and a fish oil supplement. OH OH and I plan on buying Trop50 orange juice to get in some extra Vitamin C with my breakfast to see If that’ll help?! I’m desperate to get my energy back after almost 7 months of waking up and having low energy. It has SUCKED beyond belief and I’m ready to get back to MEEEEE! I fought to lose all that weight so I could feel AMAZING and I did until I messed it up for myself but now I am working my way to get back on track and take back that energy that I want to have again! WOOT WOOT.
Here’s to healthy living, healthy eating and our HEALTH! Small healthy choices lead to BIGGER changes that lead towards an energetic, refreshed body!!! It’s never too late to start those changes so let’s take care of our bodies!!!!!!
I am glad you accomplished your goal today! Nice work!
It’s great that you realize that as your body changes, you must also change your diet and exercise! 🙂
